About the Dufferin Community Business Association

The Dufferin Community Business Association (DCBA) is a not-for-profit and has been organized as a vehicle for business owners of like mind (or representatives of the company) who adopt a high service standard towards their client's needs, as well as to meet and share ideas and successes with each other.

We meet twice a month to support each other and to share business ideas and successes. We screen our candidates to ensure a good fit. We want to be able to vouch for the integrity of each member so we may refer their services, in full confidence, to clients, family and friends as the opportunity arises. We are a cohesive force with a passion for bringing improvements small and large to our community and community based causes.

The Group with a Difference

One of the two popular B-2-B groups have their membership fees directed to an out-of-community head office and their mandate is highly structured and geared aggressively to networking within their circle. The other has their emphasis on social and business networking.

While each of us agrees that referrals and growth of business are important, we are more than just a business-to-business mechanism or social group and our goals are quite different.

The focus of the DCBA is on community participation and how we can endeavour to make our community a more fun and interactive place to raise a family and have a business. We do this one project at a time.

OUR membership fees are used directly to fund these initiatives. By investing back into the community we are building a solid foundation of trust and dependability within our business and residential communities. Our names and businesses will be synonymous with the integrity of the DCBA mandate and the results we have/will achieve. Our approachability and integrity within our communities will translate into good old fashioned word of mouth. Who wouldnÕt want to do business with a friend? We are friends of the community.

DCBA – Is it for You?

We strive for excellence and have a screening process both for the benefit of applicants as well as current members so each can be comfortable in the concepts, values and in personally vouching for the integrity of each member's services to their clients, family and friends as the opportunity arises.

Our members and future members will be a cohesive force with a passion for bringing improvements, small and large, to our community and community based projects by funding or raising funds for those selected individuals, groups, or organizations needing help. We also organize celebration days for kids and families to encourage community spirit while raising awareness for the DCBA.

Ideally, we want to encourage membership with individuals that we would have faith doing business with, has a passion for a community cause and/or celebration, has a sense of commitment, takes pride in, and enjoys being involved in the group process from start to finish.
